Edible Playground

Edible Playground provides an opportunity for school children to connect the food they eat with where it comes from and develop a passion for growing and eating their own food.

Children learn the science behind growing food and the importance of eating locally grown seasonal produce by:

Trees for Cities has been planting edible playgrounds since 2004, so far we have planted an edible playground in seven London schools and thirteen schools in other UK cities, including Reading and Sheffield.

We are developing this concept further and are looking forward to working with more schools in the near future.

Trees for Cities relies on donations from individuals in order to deliver projects like the Edible Playground. Please consider supporting our Edible Playground work by making a donation or buying a community gift.
