Delawyk Crescent Estate - Southwark

This project involved the enhancement of Delawyk Crescent Estate, in the London Borough of Southwark through tree planting activities. Trees for Cities transformed small neglected green areas throughout the estate through the planting of 15 fruit and nut trees.

The community was involved throughout the project including design consultation, educational and green skills workshops and a community planting event, to ensure that they felt a real sense of ownership of the new trees and gained the confidence to care for and enjoy their harvests long after the end of this project.

This project is supported by The London Borough of Southwark’s Cleaner Greener Safer programme, Comic Relief, the City Bridge Trust and Esmee Fairbairn.
