New Trees at Bessingby Park

Trees for Cities is worked with London Borough of Hillingdon in 2024 to plant new trees in Bessingby Park. These trees were planted with the aim to bring increased biodiversity and shade and improve the visual amenity of the area.

Why did we plant trees here?

During this project 60 standard trees were planted to increase canopy cover in the borough and to provide shade, improve biodiversity, and add amenity value to the site. Additional shrubs and perennials were also planted as part of the design to create a Forest Garden (designed food-growing system based on trees, shrubs and perennial plants) that aims to mimic the structure of a natural forest.

Thank you for planting trees with us!

In October 2024, local schools and members of the local community joined us at workshops and a Community Planting Day to plant the trees in the space.
