New Trees in Barrhead

Trees for Cities are to be working with Eadha Enterprises and East Renfrewshire Council to plant 1000 new trees around Carlibar Park in Barrhead.

We have consulted with a group of local primary school pupils and a group of adults about the design and tree species. Please read through the information below regarding the design and volunteering for the community tree planting event.

Please see the map below showing the tree planting locations in Carlibar Park.

Adding new trees to an area can enhance it in various ways. Dense planting is good for wildlife and can help to mitigate flooding or create a screen against a busy road.

If you have any feedback on the planting sites, please email the Urban Tree Canopy Coordinator – allys@treesforcities.org

This work is part of our Trees for Climate Action project, bringing groups of young people and older people together who wouldn’t normally meet, through tree related activities.
