Trees for Cities are partnered with npower to plant a tree for every customer the signs up to their Go Green Energy Fix Tariff.

We plan to plant 20,000 trees here in 2018-19 and to develop a longer term relationship for the site.

Project site is in the Aire Valley, a priority flood management target area identified by DEFRA / Environment Agency as of high importance for tree establishment to reduce the frequency and intensity of flood incidents in the Aire Valley.

Through this project we're helping grow the White Rose Forest as part of wider efforts to create the Northern Forest; a huge, new forest which will cover a large area in the North of England.

Howden Rough is a former public golf course (now de-notified) owned by Bradford Council, with site management devolved to Keighley Scouting Association. The site design includes open spaces for camping, trails and activities such as archery. The new planting will complement the existing tree cover, allowing for vistas across the Aire Valley and improved public access.

An extensive community consultation has taken place and all stakeholders are on board and in favour of the project.
