Planting Healthy Air in Schools

Could your school benefit from tree planting or greenery to improve the poor air quality on your school grounds?

This programme is being developed in recognition of London’s toxic air and the detrimental effects this has on all city dwellers, especially children. Trees remove 2,241 tons of pollution per hectare per year in London. They are particularly effective when providing a semi-permeable obstacle to the flow of air from the pollutant source.

Trees for Cities has worked with schools across London since we were founded in 1993, recognising the need to green, enrich and improve school grounds for outdoor learning and play, providing shade and contact with nature for children.

We are currently seeking expressions of interest for the programme and invite you to fill out the short form below. Please note, expressions of interest will support us in securing funding for the programme, but does not guarantee that we will be able to deliver a project in your school. We will keep you updated on progress, should we be able to go ahead.

Please include any details about your school grounds, including information about any air quality issues, whether you have any soft ground for planting, and rough size estimates of the school’s outdoor space.

Please contact info@treesforcities.org with any questions about filling out the form.
