Community Tree Planting at Ravenor Park

Trees for Cities is holding a free community planting day on Saturday 2nd November, 10 am - 3 pm.

Our event is open to all and everyone who attends will have the chance to plant a tree with us.

Trees for Cities staff and volunteers will be on hand to provide expert guidance on how and where to plant the trees as well as all the tools and equipment you need.

We will also be serving free hot food and drinks throughout the day.

Tree planting is a fun and accessible activity and we do our best to make sure as many people can participate. Please contact community@treesforcities.org if you would like more information about the day.

Use the form below to sign up for our planting event and please spread the word among your friends and neighbours:

The new trees will provide succession to the mature trees already in Ravenor Park as well as increasing wildlife habitat, and help to combat climate change by sequestering carbon and cooling the air. They will also improve drainage, making the park more usable in the winter months and providing additional shade for park users.

We aim to deliver this project in Autumn 2024. There will be opportunities for local people to get involved, and we will work with local schools and community organisations to take part in planting the trees.

Click the link below to see our design and use the form on this page to leave feedback. If you prefer, you can email community@treesforcities.org with comments.

The yellow areas on the map show where we will be planting new woodland areas. In these spaces, the trees will be planted as small saplings (some only about 30cm tall) and will grow together into a woodland. The coloured dots represent individual trees with red being a larger tree. Some of the larger trees will have a group of three trees around them, these are marked in green.
