New Trees for Roding Valley Park
Trees for Cities are pleased to be working with the London Borough of Redbridge to plant new trees in Roding Valley Park.
The new trees will increase canopy cover in the area, provide a natural barrier against pollution from nearby roads, increase natural habitats for wildlife and promote biodiversity.
Community Planting Day
Trees for Cities are holding another community planting day on Wednesday 15th March, 10.30 am - 3pm. We will be planting throughout the day so please feel free to drop in. There is no need to sign up but do check out the information pack here for more details about where to go.
final Roding Valley Park designs
The two designs show where the small trees have been planted to create new woodlands in the area.
The upper storeys include larger tree species, the mid-story slightly smaller species and the lower story the shortest tree species. This allows enough sunlight to reach all the trees to ensure healthy growth and will provide an aesthetically pleasing layered view to the woodland.
The new woodlands will grow to provide a natural barrier against pollution from nearby roads, and provide natural habitats for local wildlife.
