Help grow equal access to trees

We know that trees do amazing things: they provide habitats for wildlife, improve air quality, mitigate the impact of climate change, and even boost our mental wellbeing.

Yet access to trees is not equal and many urban areas still struggle with low canopy cover - sometimes as low as 2%. This means millions in towns and cities are missing out on the benefits of trees.

This December, let’s change that.

Join us from midday 3rd - 10th December to root for equity and help plant urban trees where they’re needed most.

And here's the exciting part: for one week only, every gift you make will be doubled thanks to our partners at the Big Give. That's right - your support will go twice as far in bringing the benefits of trees to the communities that need them most.

£100000

campaign target

As the need for urban trees grows, so do our planting ambitions - and this is why we're running our biggest campaign ever. If we raise £50,000 in total, this will be matched to £100,000, enabling us to plant thousands of trees in towns and cities across the UK.

Why access to trees is important

What is tree equity and why should we root for it?

Tree equity is the idea that everyone should experience the health, climate and economic benefits of trees, no matter your postcode.

Maps of UK tree canopy cover show stark disparity within towns and cities, with deprived urban areas more likely to be devoid of trees. These communities are missing out on the benefits trees bring and are left vulnerable to the effects of climate change.

Tree canopy cover is unevenly distributed geographically and demographically. Most urban tree canopy cover scores fell short of proposals for a 20% target and are low compared to non-UK targets.

But its not too late change this. With your support, together we can grow greener, healthier, happier towns and cities for all.

Join our Big Give Christmas Challenge and your support will go twice as far in bringing the benefits of trees to the communities that need them most.
