Community Celebration Day at St. Chads Park

Over the past winter Trees for Cities have planted lots of new young trees in St Chad's Park. To celebrate this we are holding a community celebration day in the park on Thursday 29th July 2 pm - 6pm. Join us for an afternoon of craft activities, nature-themed games and wildlife walks around St. Chads Park.

Whips planted in 2017 with the Friends of St. Chad's & local people!

Attending the Event

There is no need to sign up beforehand, just come along when you are ready on the day. While at this small outdoor event there is a relatively low risk of transmitting the virus we will still have some measures in place to protect our staff and attendees.

What have we planted?

Trees for Cities have completed two planting projects at St Chad's Park in recent years, the first was in 2017 when we planted what is now an established woodland area.

In early 2021 we partnered with the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham to extend the existing areas of mature woodland near the horticultural gardens with small pockets of trees known as 'copses'. In years to come, these will complement the existing trees and provide a diverse habitat for nature.
