Greening up Bradford
Bradford residents are coming together to green up their communities by planting trees - 60,000 and counting!
Through tree-planting events, education sessions, and workshops in schools, we've been working alongside communities in Bradford to not only plant trees, but to create awareness of the many benefits they bring to our neighbourhoods, and the importance of protecting them.
Our work in Bradford is part of our Trees for Climate Action project, bringing people together across generations through tree-related activities.
Mel Frances, Senior Development Coordinator at Trees for Cities, shares the successes of the past few years, and exciting projects ahead.
Made possible with partners
Many thanks to our funders, the National Lottery Community Fund and Bradford Council, for making this work possible.
With the help of the following partners we're able to put this planting into action: Field Studies Council, Yorgreen CIC, Fruitworks, and BEES (Bradford Environmental Education Service).
Trees for Climate Action
Trees for Climate Action project aims to engage up to 20,000 young people in Bradford and Glasgow, giving them the chance to learn from experienced professionals working in the environmental sector and get involved in tree planting, training and volunteering.
