On film: Planting day with PPL in Edinburgh

9 May 2018 1 minute read

Have a look at our planting day in Edinburgh, which marked the beginning of our partnership with People’s Postcode Lottery.

The planting day, which took place on the 21st of March 2018, will lead to a new woodland in Little France Park, Craigmillar, Edinburgh. We got valuable help from 8 volunteers from People’s Postcode Lottery and a local walking group who all came together to plant new trees, including Pedunculate oak, Scots pine, Rowan, Silver birch and Downy birch. In Craigmillar, the benefits of urban trees will help to combat noise and air pollution, as well as boost physical and mental health.

We’d like to thank the players of People’s Postcode Lottery who have awarded us £300,000, and made this all possible!

The funds will enable us to achieve our goal of planting 1 million trees by 2020, and make cities up and down the country greener, happier and healthier.

Donate to Trees for Cities and together we can help cities grow into greener, cleaner and healthier places for people to live and work worldwide.
