New Trees at White Hart Lane Recreation Ground
Trees for Cities worked with London Borough of Haringey in 2024 to plant new trees around White Hart Lane Recreation Ground. These trees were planted with the aim to create additional shade along pathways and improve the visual amenity and biodiversity of the space.

Why did we plant trees here?
During this project 30 standard trees and 10 fruit trees were planted that will increase shade and improve the visual amenity and biodiversity of the area.
These trees add to the canopy cover of the Borough of Haringey, contributing to the aim of the Haringey Tree and Woodland Plan to increase canopy cover to a minimum of 30% in each Council ward. This in turn will contribute to the London Environment Strategy aim to increase tree canopy cover across London by 10% by 2050, and Goal 7 of the London Urban Forest Plan – to increase the number of trees in London’s parks and green spaces, particularly in areas of currently low canopy cover.
Thank you for planting with us!
In October 2024 school groups and volunteers from the local community joined us for workshops and a Community Planting Day to plant the trees together.

It was great, fun and a good learning experience. The staff were great, friendly, and knowledgeable.
